Stanford Run
Tonight leaving work on a business trip in San Jose, I noticed a guy get on the train without any bag and his workout clothes. He looked really fit, like Ironman fit and sure enough he has just finished 8th in the 40-44 age group at Ironman St. George, Utah. We sat together on the train and chatted up train running, Ironman, training, and more. What is great about this is that I was getting ready to go workout after a unusual day for me of being in the office all day and appreciated the motivation he provided. He gave me best wishes for his training and I went off for my evening run.
I ran up to Stanford 3 miles and ran around the beautiful campus a bit. Then I headed over to famous Stanford track and ran 2x2 mile repeats. The first one was pretty hard but the second felt better. My times were pretty bad however, around 14:15 for the first one and I am not sure for the second one as I messed up the iPhone timer. Right now, I am wondering if the sub 7 minute speed is there in my legs. I will find out soon at the Bolder Boulder that I am running again on Memorial Day.
