A week of training
This week for the first time in a while I got in 3 ATC workouts. For 2 of those days I ran to and from ATC and all 3 of the workouts were some of the toughest I have had at the ATC in several months. The coaches, Jeremy and Connie, have really been ramping things up and pushing us hard. I feel rounded lumpy muscle all over my body and a fatigued core and lower back (those clear up after a couple days of rest) to show for all the work. Today was 8 rounds of:
- Squat an 80lb round 6 times and then do a lap across the gym with it.
- Pick up a beer keg 5x each side and set it on top of a platform.
- Clean and press a 60lb sandbag 3x each side.
That was about 1/3 of the workout. I won’t talk about the rest, including the bonus. But I am not complaining, I love working so hard that when I come home I have a hollow look in my eye and I feel hollow inside. I like digging towards the bottom of my well. And of course I love refilling it with a fruit and greens smoothie and then a bunch of homemade bread.
